For the Handwerk+Form 2018 competition, schmidinger möbelbau manufactured the brochure rack Falter in collaboration with architect Jörg Tiefenthaler from Bregenz, Austria. The furniture folds upward in several levels. The base and spine, which also serves as a subdivision, are made of hardwood, while the slanted levels are made of softwood. The use of softwood serves to reduce the overall weight. The visibility from all sides serves the information overview, for example in schools, offices or hotels.
